The facilities are very nice and clean!
I learned about Giostar from someone I knew who had treatment for a condition similar to mine and who had experienced great results. After investigation into stem cell treatment including at multiple facilities, I decided to go to Giostar. My customized treatment plan called for five days of treatment.
The facility is excellent and I hate to begin this review with the only issue I had during the entire experience, but this allows for a chronological review of my visit. This is really a recommendation than a negative comment about the facility.
We flew from Atlanta to Phoenix and then got a connecting flight to Yuma where Giostar will pick you up at the airport. The only problem for us was our first flight was delayed 3 1/2 hours meaning we missed our connecting flight and had to be put on another flight so we landed in Yuma six hours later than planned. I had no way to contact them to tell them my flight had been changed, but fortunately the driver was at the airport to pick up two people were on the same flight as us. I would advise finding out before you leave how you need to handle a situation where you get put on a different flight than originally scheduled, especially if travelling on the weekend.
Alternatively, you can drive to the border where you can pay to park and then walk across the border. If you don't drive from home, you can fly to Phoenix and drive 3 1/2 hours or fly to San Diego and drive 2 1/2 hours to the border. If you drive or walk across the border, you can do so with your driver's license or other government ID. However, if you fly into Mexico you will need a passport.
Once we got to the hotel, we were tired from travelling and didn't do much. Also, be aware while there is much to do in the City during the week there is very little open on weekends.
When we arrived the next morning for my first appointment I was given some paperwork to fill out and introduced to my concierge who would walk me through each step of the process and make sure I knew when to be where each day. She was also available to offer advice in general about anything in the City.
After a consultation with the doctor, my treatment began. I received IV nutrition, stem cells, and exosomes throughout the week. I also used the hyperbaric chamber daily and had a consultation with the nutritionist.
The facilities are very nice and clean and are better than many doctor's offices and medical facilities I have visited in the U.S. Everyone I encountered who worked at the facility was so friendly and caring to me, my father who accompanied me, and to one another.
The facility is located in a U-shaped building with a central courtyard. It has multiple offices within this facility which deliver different types of services. Additional facilities are mixed into the complex for your convenience and include a convenience store, restaurant, and hotel on the second floor so if you stay at that location the clinic is right below your room.
Regarding the City, it is small but has many interesting locations to visit if you feel up to it. We had some great food made from the freshest ingredients. Additionally, there are many street vendors where you can shop for locally made goods as well as mass produced products for hours on end. There are also approximately 100 dental clinics, optical clinics, and pharmacies in the City where you can obtain services at a reasonable cost. Everyone on the streets and in the businesses were very nice to us as well. Most importantly, we never felt unsafe at any point while we were there but we never ventured out of Los Algodones itself.
It has been 3 weeks since I completed my treatments and I have had mild symptoms which are in line with what I was told to expect. These have mostly been headaches, but over the last few days have gone away. Within 10 days of my treatment I was almost totally free from the pain I previously experienced in my joints, muscles, and tendons. I am hopeful I will continue to see additional improvements with other symptoms over the next 3 months.
